Statutory annual holiday standards: 11 days in total, 7 holidays for all citizens
Among them, China’s current legal annual holiday standard is 11 days. Holidays for all citizens: New Year, one day off (January 1); Spring Festival, three days off (the first, second and third day of the first lunar month); Qingming Festival, one day off (the same day as the Qingming Festival on the lunar calendar); Labor Day, 1 day off for the Dragon Boat Festival (May 1); 1 day off for the Dragon Boat Festival (the day of the Dragon Boat Festival in the lunar calendar); 1 day off for the Mid-Autumn Festival (the day of the Mid-Autumn Festival in the lunar calendar); 3 days off for the National Day (October 1, 2, and 3).
Some holidays and anniversaries for citizens: Women’s Day (March 8), women have a half-day holiday; Youth Day (May 4), young people over 14 years of age have a half-day holiday; Children’s Day (June 1), children under 14 years of age have a one-day holiday; Chinese People’s Liberation Army Founding Day (August 1), active military personnel have a half-day holiday. For festivals customary by ethnic minorities, the local people's government of the area inhabited by ethnic minorities shall stipulate holiday dates in accordance with the customs of each ethnic group.
If a holiday for all citizens falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the holiday must be made up on working days. If a holiday taken by some citizens falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the holiday will not be made up.
